Service Description

Discover sustainability and climate change through the lens of football with Final Third's accredited Carbon Literacy course. Join over 120,000 citizens in gaining valuable insights and certification to lead impactful changes in your community and within the sports industry. Elevate your understanding and drive progress with our expert-led program designed for football enthusiasts and professionals alike. These sessions will run for 4 evenings, over 8 hours in total. Participants must be present for all sessions to complete the course, if a date is not possible, then please email us before booking, as we may be able to accommodate missed sessions on an alternative course. All participants must complete the full course and complete some documents post-course to receive certification. The sessions will run on Tuesday and Thurdsay evening for 2 consecutive weeks in August on the 12th, 14th, 19th and 21st from 6.00-8.00pm. This course will be delivered by Rich Holmes and Kate Strong. Rich Holmes is a sustainability strategist, educator and campaign developer working at the intersection of football, community and climate action. With a background in the football industry and deep experience across education and social impact, he helps organisations turn bold ideas into practical, engaging action. Through Final Third, Rich works with clubs, charities and purpose-driven brands to create campaigns, school programmes and fan activations that make sustainability accessible and meaningful. His work bridges creativity and strategy, with a focus on equity, collaboration and long-term impact. Kate Strong is an author, public speaker, advisor, behavioural change expert, leadership & resilience coach, multiple world record cyclist, age-group World Champion triathlete, ex-aerospace engineer and an adventurer activist. Evolving from competitive sport, Kate now uses sport as a vehicle to connect communities and raise awareness around important issues, such as climate change and access to water. Kate works with individuals and organisations around purpose, authentic engagement with a wider audience and effective advocacy, particularly focused on environmental justice and social inclusion.
