On Thursday 26th September, our Director Rich Holmes headed to the iconic Wimbledon All England Lawn Tennis Club for the BASIS Sustainable Sport Awards.
THREE initiatives that Final Third have collaborated on over the last 12 months were shortlisted for awards with 2 awards being won.
'Fan Engagement Action of the Year' - Cobblers Tackle Food Waste
Final Third have collaborated with Northampton Town Community Trust and Planet League for this community-focused food waste reduction initiative, funded by Eat It Up from Hubbub thanks to the Starbucks 5p Cup Charge.
'Campaign of the Year' - Green Football Weekend
Rich has sat on the steering group for Green Football Weekend since its inception in 2022/23 and has led the club and community outreach for the campaign as well as much of the education and schools work. The campaign is led by a collaborative steering group including Count Us In, Sky, TNT Sports, The FSA, Pledgeball, Planet League and Exceptional and has a wide array of supporting partners from leagues, clubs, broadcasters, CCOs, NGOs, players, community groups and more.
Collaboration is a core pillar of everything we do at Final Third, and we're delighted to be working on some fantastic projects having a positive impact all around the UK. Our thanks go out to BASIS for a brilliant and inspiring Awards ceremony, and a congratulations to all the other winners and nominees.
